5 Freeway In Santa Clarita Reopened After Medical Helicopter Landing

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — A crash involving a van and a pickup truck Monday prompted the closure of the southbound Golden State (5) freeway so a medical helicopter could land at the scene.

The crash was reported as Hasley Canyon Road just after 5 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

One person was airlifted to a hospital in unknown condition, CHP Officer Tony Polizzi said.

A southbound lane was reopened at about 6 a.m., and the remaining lanes were reopened by 7:15 a.m., the CHP said.
