49ers' Jonathan Martin Takes Down Versace Shoplifter At Beverly Center

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The San Francisco 49ers' right tackle Jonathan Martin can now add crime-fighter to his resume after he helped thwart a robbery at the Versace store in the Beverly Center.

The attempted robbery happened around 4:20 p.m. Thursday when the Niners lineman, whose parents live in Ladera Heights, witnessed a man stealing two purses from the luxury store.

Martin, a second-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2012, made headlines in 2013 when he accused teammates of bullying.

The 2014 season was the Stanford grad's first with the 49ers where he played in 15 games.
