1 killed in crash on 405 Freeway in Sepulveda Pass

Deadly crash closes most lanes on 405 Freeway in Sepulveda Pass

The California Highway Patrol closed all but one lane on the 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass after a deadly collision on Monday.

The crash happened at roughly 1:55 p.m. on the southbound 405 Freeway at Sepulveda Boulevard. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, the victim was identified as 42-year-old Bernardo Borges Dreher by the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner.

Officers reopened all lanes on Monday night after several hours. 

On Tuesday, CHP officers told CBS News Los Angeles that a man was arrested for the crash. They say that he was driving under the influence when the collision happened.
