4-Vehicle Crash In Torrance Kills 1, Injures 5 Others

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) —A man died at a hospital Tuesday following a four-vehicle crash in Torrance that injured five other people.

Paramedics were sent to 190th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard just after 11 a.m., Torrance fire Capt. Steve Deuel said.

Two of the vehicles collided head-on, Deuel said.

One of the injured drivers was taken to Harbor/UCLA Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 12:03 p.m., the Los Angeles County Coroner's Craig Harvey said. The name of the man, who was in his 60s, was being withheld pending notification of his family, Harvey said.

Another person was hospitalized in serious condition, and four others suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
