4 Teens Arrested In Drive-By Pellet-Gun Shooting In Seal Beach

SEAL BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Four teenage boys were arrested after a drive-by pellet-gun shooting that left a 5-year-old child and a woman with minor injuries in Seal Beach.

The shooting happened about 5 p.m. Sunday on Electric Avenue at 12th Street.

Seal Beach police Sgt. Michael Henderson said witness description of the suspects' vehicle led police to them. Two of them are 16 years old and the other two are 17.

There has been a rash of similar air-rifle attacks in Orange County dating back to April. But investigators have not determined if they are connected.

The most recent incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harbor Boulevard, north of the Garden Grove (22) Freeway.

A woman and a man suffered minor injuries after a pellet hit their vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two pellet-gun shootings were reported in Buena Park on July 18. A man was shot in the face with a pellet gun fired from a dark, four-door compact car about 10:45 p.m. at 8970 Knott Avenue, Buena Park police Sgt. Bret Carter said.

The victim suffered wounds to his lip and cheek, the sergeant said.

About 15 minutes later, another man was wounded by a pellet gun at Beach Boulevard and Franklin Street, Carter said.

Again, a dark, four-door compact car pulled up to the victim, who was waiting by a bus stop, and shot him in the cheek, Carter said.

In April, Newport Beach police reported three pellet-gun incidents.
