4 People Sickened At Apparent Drug Lab In Palmdale

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — An apparent drug lab was busted on Saturday night in Palmdale, but not before four people, including three Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, became ill.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it was called to a garage in the 36000 block of Sierra Highway about 9:30 p.m.,  after the deputies and a civilian became ill. LA County fire Supervisor Bernard Peters said the victims were treated for "non-life-threatening" injuries at a hospital, according to City News Service.

Peters said the injuries were probably caused by fumes at the site.

The deputies were members of a team serving a search warrant where a suspected drug lab was being operated, LA County fire Supervisor Robert Diaz said.

The identity of the civilian who was also injured was not immediately known.
