4 Injured When Compact Car, School Bus Collide Head-On In Menifee
MENIFEE (CBSLA.com) — Four people were injured -- at least one seriously -- in a collision Wednesday between a compact car and a school bus carrying 18 students in Menifee.
Te crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Evans Street and Holland Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Jose Serrano said details about the head-on wreck were still preliminary, but said only one of the students aboard the Perris Union High School District bus was injured.
According to Serrano, a woman in a Nissan Sentra suffered major injuries and was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.
"The driver and another passenger sustained moderate injuries and were transported to the same facility," he said. "There was an occupant of the vehicle who fled the scene before we arrived. We don't know why."
The school bus driver was not hurt.
One student complained of feeling sixk after the crash and was taken to the hospital for "precautionary reasons," Serrano said.
No arrests were anticipated, though the investigation was ongoing, the officer said.
