4 Boys Suspected Of Shooting Paintballs Into Crowded Fontana Park

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Four boys have been arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy after allegedly firing several rounds of paintball ammunition into a crowded Fontana park.

Police were called out to Koehler Park, 15352 Walnut St., at about 8:12 p.m. Monday to a report of assault with a deadly weapon. Responding officers found that several rounds of paintball ammunition were shot into a crowd during a children's soccer practice.

Several people were hit, including a 9-year-old girl who was struck in the face while on the soccer field, Fontana police said. She suffered minor injuries.

The suspects, who were in a black Cadillac Escalade, also shot paintball rounds at houses, vehicles and public signs in the neighborhood near the park, police said.

All four juvenile boys were arrested. Their names were not released because of their ages.
