3-Year-Olds Nearly Drown In Pair Of Unrelated Cases

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Riverside County authorities reported two near-drowning cases involving 3-year-old children on Saturday evening.

In both unrelated cases the children were left unattended in swimming pools and were saved by bystanders, a spokesman for the Riverside County Fire Department told City News Service.

One of the incidents occurred just after 5 p.m. Saturday in Norco, in the 1200 block of Dodge City Place, while the other was 20 miles away in Murrieta, in the 37200 block of Avocet Way, a little more than two hours later.

The children were taken to area hospitals, with the Murrieta child reported in critical condition. No further information was immediately available.
