3-Year-Old Girl's Fatal Fall From Anaheim Hotel Balcony A 'Very Tragic' Accident

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Donations were pouring in Tuesday in for a 3-year-old Las Vegas girl who died from a fall from an Anaheim hotel balcony.

Stephanie Martinez died just before 7 p.m. Saturday after falling from a balcony overlooking the indoor atrium at the Embassy Suites Anaheim, 3100 E. Frontera St., Anaheim police spokesman Lt. Eric Trapp said.

Paramedics were dispatched to the hotel on the report of a child who had fallen from an upper level, Trapp said. When they arrived, they found a 3-year-old girl suffering from a traumatic injury. The girl was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was declared dead.

Investigating officers went to the hospital and hotel and learned the girl fell from a fifth-story indoor balcony, Trapp said.

The girl and her family are from Las Vegas and were in town to visit family, according to Trapp. No arrests have been made, and at this point, Stephanie's fall is considered an accident.

"Very tragic," Trapp said.

A GoFundMe account was set up to help raise money for Stephanie's funeral costs, which had raised nearly $12,000 by Tuesday afternoon. The page's original goal was to raise $8,000.
