3 Puppies Rescued From Rising San Gabriel River Find 'Furever' Homes

SOUTH EL MONTE (CBSLA.com) — Two women and a litter of puppies were recovering after firefighters saved them from the rising San Gabriel river.

The women were stranded Friday on an island in South El Monte, where the water was flowing at 10 miles per hour during the rescue.

Along with the women, six puppies were saved, three of which have been adopted.

The remaining three puppies will be available for adoption at the Los Angeles County South East-area animal control center in Downey.
