3 Men Wounded In Overnight Shooting At Rudy's LA Bar In East LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Three people were wounded overnight Sunday in a shooting at a bar in East Los Angeles, authorities said.

The shooting unfolded inside Rudy's LA Bar at Pomona and Atlantic Boulevard before closing around 1:20 a.m.

Neighbors say it's a great spot and not a place they ever recall having problems.

"They've been shut down during coronavirus so it hasn't been that crazy," said Camille Medina, a neighbor. "Even in the summertime, it's like no problem every year."

It was there that investigators received a call that someone had walked into the bar, and opened fire. Three men were struck by gunfire. All three were taken to the hospital. Two were in critical, yet stable condition. A third individual's condition was unknown.

It was not clear whether the suspect knew the individuals inside. It remains unclear what prompted the shooting.

"It's scary because people want to go out and now they're afraid to go out because other people are crazy! And got guns!" said Mary Frances Carrasco, a neighbor.

Authorities have not released suspect information. If you have any information about the incident, call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
