3 Men Accused Of Stealing About $25K Worth Of Diesel Fuel

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Three Los Angeles men are accused of stealing about $25,000 worth of diesel fuel in Anaheim since October.

Onorato Urbie, Deion Milton and Eddie Lino were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of grand theft and possession of stolen property, police said.

Authorities believe the suspects stole 6,600 gallons of fuel from 10 truck yards in Anaheim. They possibly also took gas from San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties.

At one of the yards, a security camera was able to grab an image of the license plate of the suspects' white van, Anaheim police Lt. Tim Schmidt said.

"So they sit on the crooks last night waiting for them to move and followed them into Buena Park and watched them siphon out gas from several big rigs," Schmidt said. "Inside (the van) they had these big containers full of gas. We estimate there were 350 gallons in the van. They most likely would sell it on the black market."

The suspects are now jailed in lieu of $25,000.
