3 Killed, 2 Seriously Hurt In Wrong-Way Crash On 210 Freeway

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (AP) — Police say a car going the wrong way on the 210 Freeway crashed into another vehicle in Rancho Cucamonga, killing three people and seriously injuring two others.

California Highway Patrol Capt. Joe Flores said the accident happened at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday when the alleged wrong-way driver in a blue Hyundai collided with a silver Hyundai with four occupants.

Flores said the lone person in the blue Hyundai was killed along with two back-seat passengers in the car he struck.

The driver of the silver Hyundai and a female passenger in the front seat were seriously injured and were at a local hospital.

He said the occupants in the silver Hyundai were returning from a family reunion.

Authorities are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
