3 Injured In Catalina Boating Accident

TWO HARBORS, CATALINA (CBSLA.com) — Three people were injured when their 22-foot power boat crashed at full speed into the Isthmus near Two Harbors on Catalina Island on Monday evening.

Two of the injuries are being classified as 'critical', according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The crash occurred at 7:07 p.m.

The third injury was reportedly minor.

The injured boaters were flown over the channel to trauma centers on the mainland, according to an LACFD dispatcher.

The United States Coast Guard transported one of the critically injured patients to Long Beach Memorial Hospital.

Paramedics transported the other critical injury, along with the boater with minor injuries, to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Officials are still looking into the cause of the crash.
