3 Disoriented Hikers, Dog Airlifted From Angeles National Forest

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  Authorities said three hikers were rescued Saturday from the Angeles National Forest.

The three were hiking and went off trail before becoming stranded on top of a mountain, near Switzer Falls at Bear Canyon.

Officials said the hikers, two men, a woman and a dog, got disoriented.

One hiker was able to make a cell phone call to the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station and ask for help.

Air 5 Rescue was dispatched to the location around 12:45 p.m.

A hoist rescue was conducted and all three victims and their dog were hoisted into the aircraft, uninjured, and released to the Montrose Search and Rescue, officials said.
