3 Dead In Small Plane Crash Near Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE (CBSLA.com) — Officials report three people have died in a small plane crash near Lake Elsinore.

Firefighters were dispatched after receiving reports of a small fire at 9:22 a.m. Sunday at an area close to the Lookout Roadhouse restaurant, in the 32100 block of Ortega Highway, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Crews arrived to find the fire had been ignited by a plane crash.

Three passengers were reported dead.

The fire was contained to less than an acre.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
