3 Chihuahuas Die In Simi Valley Condo Fire
SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say three Chihuahuas died in a fire Monday at a Simi Valley home.
Firefighters responded at about 11:42 a.m. to the 2700 block of Stearns Street, near Alamo Street, in Simi Valley, to find a large head of smoke from a condo fire, Ventura County Fire spokesman Capt. Mike Lindberry said. There was a report of a person possibly trapped on the second floor.
Firefighters searched the apartment but didn't find anyone trapped, Lindberry said, and the fire was knocked down by 12:15 p.m. The resident had escaped the condo before firefighters arrived, he said.
