3 Boys Suspected Of Stealing iPads From Perris School

PERRIS (CBSLA.com) — Three boys are suspected of stealing iPads from an elementary school in Perris.

The suspects, whose names were withheld because of their ages, were arrested on suspicion of theft and released to their parents in connection to break-ins at May Ranch Elementary on May 6 and May 10, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The boys allegedly broke classroom windows to get into the school and then took an undisclosed number of iPads.

The total value of the devices was estimated to be more than $40,000, sheriff's Sgt. Ryan Hoxmeier said.

An investigation revealed the youth as suspects. Several of the iPads were later recovered and returned to the school after search warrants were executed at the boys' homes.
