The blaze had grown to 70 acres and was 20-percent contained as of 3:30 p.m. and was burning along the Santa Ana River Trail.

Mandatory evacuations were temporarily ordered on Old Ranch Road and Park Cliff Court but were lifted as of 3:32 p.m. It's unclear if any structures were threatened.

Neighbor Melissa Dominguez said in the two years she's lived there, she's seen many fires.

"I had no idea that it was this bad because we grew up Chino," she said.  "So coming out here was pretty crazy. This is our second real big fire in the past probably six months."

The trail was shut down between Ryan Bonaminio Park and Anza Narrows Park. Side streets were only open to residents.

There was no word on what may have caused the fire.
