2nd Mistrial Declared In Halloween Killing Of Boy In Spider-Man Costume

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — For a second time, a mistrial was declared Tuesday in the case against a man accused of killing a 5-year-old boy wearing a Spider-man costume on Halloween of 2010.

Aaron Shannon Jr. was fatally shot Oct. 31, 2010, in Compton in what authorities allege was a gang-related shooting.

A retrial of the case against Leonard Hall Jr. began early January but, according to the Los Angeles Superior Hall, a mistrial was declared due to a hung jury.

The court did not indicate what steps would be taken next.

In 2013, the first mistrial against Hall was declared after a jury said it was deadlocked.
