LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Utility crews continue to work Wednesday to restore power to about 2,100 customers throughout Los Angeles County.

As of 6 a.m., there were 1,497 customers without electricity in county areas served by Southern California Edison. That includes 656 customers in Alhambra, 137 in Beverly Hills and 115 in Rosemead, SCE officials said.

In Los Angeles, LADWP says 630 customers are still without electricity as of 6 a.m.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, there were about 4,500 LADWP customers without power, about 1,000 of them in Encino.

In SCE's service area, there were about 4,000 customers without electricity around 10 a.m. Tuesday, but that number had dropped to 1,667 by 5 p.m.

Eliot Middle School in Altadena was forced to cancel classes for the rest of the day because of a malfunctioning air-conditioning system. It's not known if the school will open tomorrow.
