27-Year-Old Man Fatally Stabbed In Red Mountain

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — Detectives continued their investigation on Sunday into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a 27-year-old man in Red Mountain.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Station, deputies from the Barstow station responded to a stabbing call around 9:20 p.m. Saturday located in the area of Highway 395 and Cuddeback Road.

Once on scene, deputies located the victim, Richard Henighen, suffering from apparent stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed Henighen was involved in an altercation with another person at a camp site, which subsequently led to his injuries.

At this time, it remains unclear as to what caused the altercation.

Detectives are working to interview and question witnesses at the scene.
