22-year-old Texas man identified as pedestrian killed in Temecula crash

Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed in Temecula on Wednesday. 

The collision happened at around 9 p.m. on Ynez Road, just south of Overland Drive, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Department investigators. 

The victim, identified now as 22-year-old Fate, Texas resident Gavin Ladue, was walking in the area when he was run over by a car. Deputies were unsure if Ladue was in the street, crossing or walking along the shoulder when he was hit. 

Investigators said that the driver involved in the crash pulled over and waited to cooperate with them. They were questioned but not arrested.

Ladue was rushed to a nearby hospital in grave condition where he died shortly after arrival, deputies said.
