22-Year-Old Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexual Assault In Van Nuys

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday announced the arrest of a 22-year-old man who is accused of sexually assaulting a female victim in Van Nuys.

The victim was sexually assaulted on March 17 within her apartment complex located in the 6000 block of Haskell Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect -- who was later identified as David Ivan Campos -- allegedly prevented the victim from leaving the laundry room and sexually assaulted her.

Police said a warrant was issued for Campos's arrest.

On Tuesday, he was subsequently taken into custody.

Detectives described Campos as a Hispanic transient who is known to frequent the area of Haskell and Vanowen avenues in Van Nuys.
