20-year-old man wounded during South LA shooting

An investigation is underway after a 20-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in South Los Angeles early Saturday. 

It happened at around 2:20 a.m. near 71st Street and Figueroa Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department officers. 

Upon arrival, they found that the victim was approached by multiple suspects who opened fire, police said. 

The man was able to drive away from the scene and contact police, who took him to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately known. 

Police say that the shooters fled in an unknown direction. 

There was no information available on the alleged gunmen or a motive in the shooting.
