2-Year-Old Quarantined At John Wayne Airport Tested Negative For Meningitis

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 2-year-old girl who appeared to have meningitis Friday was quarantined at John Wayne Airport.

According to the Orange County Fire Department, paramedics responded to the airport around 2:30 p.m. and transported the child to a hospital.

She tested negative for the highly contagious condition, officials reported.

Fire officials reported the charter plane company is West Jet and traveled from Canada.

SKY2's Stu Mundel reported from overhead that the aircraft was grounded and baggage was removed from the plane.
