Suspect Critically Wounded In Ontario Officer-Involved Shooting

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) — A burglary lead to an officer-involved shooting early Monday morning in San Bernardino County.

Police received a call for a burglary in progress around 3:10 a.m. at a strip mall near the intersection of Grove Avenue and Acacia Street in Ontario, according to authorities.

When officers arrived, they found two suspects inside the business.

"As they were ordering the suspects out, the suspect got into a van and drove towards the officers, crashing into the officers' patrol vehicle," Sgt. Jeff Higbee said.

Officers opened fire and wounded a male suspect. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The female suspect was not wounded.

No officers were injured.
