2 Suspects Wanted For Pistol-Whipping Officer In Exposition Park

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The search continued Thursday for two suspects wanted for pistol-whipping a state police officer in Exposition Park.

The California Department of Public Safety officer was attacked around 10 p.m. Wednesday after he interrupted the suspects and a woman arguing in the park's Rose Garden.

The suspects hit the officer in the head several times with their guns before fleeing the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The officer was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

Authorities shut down the park and parts of the adjacent USC campus for about three hours as they looked for the assailants.

Police were reviewing the injured officer's dash cam video from his cruiser in hopes to identify the men.

Anyone with information should contact the LAPD.
