2 Suspects In Custody Following Deputy-Involved Shooting In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA.com)  —  Two suspects were taken into custody after a deputy-involved shooting in Compton Saturday evening.

Neither suspect was hit. No deputies were injured.

The incident took place about 10:20 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of North Tajauta Avenue, near Spruce, Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.

Deputies from the Compton Station said they saw an illegally parked vehicle that blocking traffic and attempted to speak with those inside, but three suspects fled on foot, Hernandez said.

"One of the suspects retrieved a firearm, at which time a deputy-involved shooting occurred," Hernandez said.

Two suspects were apprehended and a weapon was recovered, officials said.

It was unclear if the third suspect is still at-large or was taken into custody following the arrest of the other two suspects.
