2 Shootings In Single Week Have Residents In Norwalk On Edge

NORWALK (CBSLA.com) — For the second time this week, authorities in Norwalk are searching for a driver whom they say is suspected of opening fire on pedestrians.

Investigators Thursday night were trying to determine if the shootings were connected but they say both involve a male suspect who drove off in a silver or grey colored sedan.

The latest incident happened around 12:30 p.m. near Allard Street and Pioneer Boulevard

It was there Sheriff's deputies say a man and woman between the ages of 17 and 25 were walking when a driver pulled up and fired several shots at them.

"I feel for these people," said a resident in the area, who saw the wounded man moments after he was shot.

"He was really bleeding, really bad," she said.

Roughly two miles away, another pedestrian in Norwalk was shot Monday afternoon. Investigators say a man was standing on the sidewalk when a single bullet hit him in the leg.

The motive in both shootings remains unclear.

But with no arrests so far, residents are concerned.

"I'll keep my kids more inside the house, yeah," the resident said.
