4 People, Dog Killed In 2-Car Lancaster Wreck
LANCASTER (CBSLA) – Four people and a dog were killed in a car crash Wednesday afternoon in Lancaster, officials said.
The crash occurred just after noon at the intersection of West Avenue H and 30th Street, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Sheriff's officials say a Toyota Avalon collided with a silver Volkswagen Jetta. All three occupants of the Jetta - who were not wearing seat belts - were ejected in the crash, authorities said.
Two of them died at the scene, while the third victim, described as a female adult, was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
The driver of the Toyota, a male adult, also died after being taken to a hospital.
All were residents of Lancaster. Two of the victims were identified as 38-year-old Wendy Fisher and 41-year-old Andrew Thomas Saint.
Authorities say it's unclear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor.
Two dogs were also in the Jetta at the time of the crash. One died at the scene and a second dog - a puppy - was taken to a local animal shelter in unknown condition.
