2 Men Injured In Fiery Vehicle Collision Into Calabasas Trees

CALABASAS (CBSLA.com) — Police investigated the circumstances surrounding a collision Saturday that injured two men traveling in a vehicle that collided with multiple trees last night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were sent around 10:08 p.m. Friday to the area of Mureau Road, East of Los Virgenes Road, for report of an injury-related collision.

Once on scene, they found two men injured inside of a 2002 Ferrari F1.

An initial report revealed that the driver of the vehicle, a 44-year-old man from Tarzana, was traveling Westbound on Mureau Road at a high rate of speed.

Officers said for an undetermined reason, he caused or allowed the vehicle to veer to the left, and entered the grass center median.

The vehicle struck two trees within the median and continued into the Eastbound lanes.

Authorities explained the car, which was fully engulfed in flames, finally came to a stop.

The driver was transported to West Hills Hospital with major injuries.

The passenger, a 28-year-old man from Calabasas, was also transported with moderate injuries.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Officers reported no arrests have been made.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
