2 Men Attempt To Rob Temecula Jewelry Store With Fake Gun

TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — Two men Friday were wanted for using a fake gun in the attempted robbery of a Riverside County jewelry store.

The Temecula Police Department responded to the Gold & Jewelry store, located in the 2700 block of Jefferson Avenue in Temecula, just before 11 a.m. Wednesday, officials said.

The owner told officers he was in front of the store, opening the business for the day, "when he was accosted by two male suspects wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves."

The suspects brandished a gun and a brief struggle ensued, with the owner disarming the men, police said.

"After the victim disarmed the suspects, both suspects fled the location in a Black Nissan Quest. Further investigation revealed the suspects used a fake plastic handgun," Sgt. Jones said.

Anyone with information should contact the Temecula Police Department at (951)696-3000.
