2 Among First To Be Charged Under LA's New Ordinance Restricting Drone Operations

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two men are facing criminal charges over accusations they flew drones too close to restricted areas in Los Angeles.

These are the first criminal charges to be filed under the city's new ordinance restricting drone operations.

The ordinance was approved in October and makes it misdemeanor to violate various rules already in place by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Both men are accused of flying drones within five miles of an airport without permission and flying above 400 feet.
