2 Killed, 2 Injured In Rollover Crash On 405 Freeway

CARSON (CBSLA.com) — Two people on the southbound 405 Freeway were killed early Saturday when their vehicle clipped a big rig and overturned.

The crash occurred at 2:15 a.m. on the northbound off-ramp to Avalon Boulevard, in Carson, according to California Highway Patrol.

A tan Toyota Camry  and a big rig were heading southbound when the Toyota turned to the right and struck the front left side of the truck.

The Toyota swerved out of control, took out a guard rail and rolled down an embankment, where it landed on all four wheels.

Several people were inside the vehicle.

The 21-year-old man driving the Toyota was identified by police Saturday afternoon as Alonzo Fausto of Long Beach. He and a 16-year-old girl died at the scene.

Another 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man suffered moderate injuries.

The off-ramp was closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene.
