Police Investigate Deadly Multi-Vehicle Crash In Beaumont

BEAUMONT (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday investigated the circumstances surrounding a deadly multi-vehicle traffic collision.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were sent to the area of Beaumont Avenue and First Street for report of a collision involving three vehicles.

Upon their arrival, paramedics transported three children and an adult to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

According to the Beaumont Police Department, on of the children and the adult succumbed to their injuries. The victim's identities are being withheld pending family notification.

The other children remain hospitalized in serious to critical condition. An update on their conditions was not immediately available.

A preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota Corolla was struck by a Ford pickup truck, which then collided with a Dodge pickup truck.

The driver of the Ford was also transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Their condition remains unknown.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
