2 Critically Injured After Propane Tank Explodes On Truck In Santa Fe Springs

SANTA FE SPRINGS (CBSLA.com) — Two people were hospitalized Monday after a propane tank exploded on a truck in Santa Fe Springs.

According to the Santa Fe Springs Fire Department, the explosion took place just before 6:30 a.m. in the 13000 block of Orden Drive.

Paramedics transported two employees to a hospital for treatment of severe burns, Whittier police said. Both were listed in critical condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victims were inside or near the truck when it exploded.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
