Two people were hospitalized following a single-car crash in Menifee on Saturday morning.

It happened a little after 2:45 a.m. near the intersection of Newport Road and Lone Pine Drive, according to the Menifee Police Department.

They say that the 21-year-old man driving a Ford Focus eastbound on Newport veered to the right for unknown reasons and crashed into a wall near the intersection.

He suffered major injuries in the crash and was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. His passenger, a 20-year-old woman, was also hospitalized in stable condition after suffering moderate injuries.

Police believe that alcohol may have been a factor in the collision.
