2 Found Dead At Bottom Of Seaside Cliff In San Pedro

SAN PEDRO (CBSLA.com/AP) — The bodies of a man and woman in their mid-20s were found at the bottom of a sea cliff in San Pedro, Los Angeles police said.

The bodies were discovered Sunday morning beneath a bluff, said Officer Mike Lopez.

The incident appeared to be accidental, though authorities said the Los Angeles coroner's office would be investigating the cause of the deaths.

Cellphone video captured footage of the bodies being airlifted flown to a park less than a mile away. The park was shut in order to allow the coroner to conduct its investigation.

Both police and those who visit the area often said the cliffs above the ocean were very dangerous.

The LAPD said the deceased lived locally.
