2 Drivers Killed In Lancaster Head-On Collision

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say two drivers were killed upon impact following a head-on collision in Lancaster late Friday.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's department said in a written statement that the accident happened about 7:58 p.m. at Avenue K at 90th Street East.

Deputies said preliminary information indicated the driver of a white Toyota Prius was headed west on Avenue K and the driver of a red Honda CRV was traveling east.

"Based upon physical evidence of the collision scene, it appears the driver of the Toyota crossed into the eastbound lanes of Avenue K and collided head-on with the Honda," the statement said.

Both drivers were killed upon impact, authorities said.

It remains unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a factor in causing the crash.

Anyone with more information about the accident was asked to call deputies at the Lancaster Sheriff's station.
