2 Carjacking Suspects Wanted In South Pasadena

SOUTH PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Tuesday to locate two carjacking suspects in the South Pasadena area.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Monday, officers were sent to the 1500 block of Oxley Street for report of an armed carjacking, according to the South Pasadena Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned a struggle ensued when three suspects attempted to carjack a victim at knife point.

The vehicle subsequently crashed into a nearby garage.

According to police, two of the suspects fled from the area on foot. A third suspect drove away from the scene in a vehicle.

A short time later, officers spotted one of the suspects on Monterey Road near Mound Avenue.

Authorities were unable to locate him after setting up a containment area.

According to the Alhambra Police Department, officers later spotted the suspect, who is a Los Angeles resident with a long criminal history. He was then turned over to the South Pasadena Police Department.

Detectives described the outstanding suspect as a Hispanic man who is believed to be between the ages of 18 and 20-years-old. He was last seen wearing a light shirt, baggy jeans and a dark baseball cap.

The suspect who fled in the vehicle was only described as a Hispanic man.
