Jack In The Box Employee Shot During Attempted Robbery In Canoga Park

CANOGA PARK (CBSLA.com) — Police searched for two attempted robbery suspects Monday who opened fire on an employee at a fast food restaurant in Canoga Park.

Officers were sent around 11 p.m. on Sunday to Jack in the Box located at De Soto Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard for report of an attempted robbery gone wrong.

Paramedics transported a man, who was an employee of the fast food restaurant, to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound sustained in the incident.

The victim's condition remains unknown at this time.

A preliminary investigation revealed two male suspects traveled in a black Nissan through the drive thru window and ordered food.

The suspects then pointed a gun at the employee and announced this was a robbery.

Police said the employee fumbled to open the register, which prompted the suspects to open fire.

The victim was shot in the hip, officers added.

Officers will review surveillance tape, which captured the crime.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department at (818) 756-4800.
