2 At Large After Shooting Outside Apartment Complex In Ventura Leaves 1 Wounded

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say two people remain at large following a shooting at an apartment complex in Ventura.

Officers responded to the Pepper Tree apartment complex in the 1300 block of Saratoga Avenue following multiple calls regarding shots heard in the area.

When they arrived on scene, they located Gilbert Rivera, 30, of Ventura who had sustained a minor injury to his chin as a result of being shot.

Rivera was treated at the scene by paramedics.

While investigating, officers learned that Rivera had gotten into the a verbal altercation with the suspects, both described as Hispanic males in their teens.

One, who was armed with a firearm, fired several rounds at the victim, police said. Both fled on foot.

An investigation is underway.
