2 Arrested For Allegedly Shooting Palmdale Teen In The Head

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)  —   Authorities have announced the arrest of two men in connection with the car-to-car shooting of a Palmdale teen Friday afternoon.

Jaime Espinoza, 20, and Fernando Albarran, 21, were both booked at Palmdale Station on attempt murder charges, and are being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.  Both men are residents of Palmdale.

Authorities said they detained a third man but released him pending further investigation.

Deputies from the Palmdale Sheriff Station responded to the 37800 block of Melton Avenue, Palmdale regarding a "gunshot victim" call for service just before 1:30 p.m.

A female juvenile believed to be 14 was transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition.

The medical condition of any other victims is unknown at this time.

A vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting was stopped by Palmdale Sheriff Station deputies in the area of Palmdale Boulevard and 10th Street East, in the city of Palmdale, several hours after the incident.

Officials believe the shooting is gang-related.
