2 Alleged Robbery Suspects Arrested In Covina

COVINA (CBSLA.com) — Two 25-year-old men were arrested Monday on suspicion of robbery.

Around 2:15 a.m., officers contacted Andy Joseph Arce, of West Covina, and John Ryan Maldonado, of La Puente, who were sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of a hotel, according to the Covina Police Department.

Police said a sawed off shotgun, a police scanner, shotgun ammunition, body armor, gloves and a pullover facial mask were located within the vehicle.

Both men were subsequently arrested on a variety of felony charges including investigation of robbery, weapons possession and violating terms of a domestic violence restraining order.

Arce and Maldonado are being held on $100,000 each at the Covina Police Department Jail. They are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
