18-Year-Old Killed As Confrontation Unfolds In Parking Lot Of Rose Bowl
PASADENA (CBSLA) — Police say one person is dead and another is injured after a fight and shooting at the Rose Bowl.
The incident unfolded in Parking Lot K just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday -- about three hours after a football game between UCLA and Oklahoma.
The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Kamryn Stone from Los Angeles.
Stone's grieving father says his son was on the first day of the job working for Cynthia's Cleaning Company -- a clean-up crew.
Police believe Stone was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
His father told CBS2/KCAL9 reporter Laurie Perez his son was a recent high school graduate who was now taking real estate classes at West LA College.
A 51-year-old man from Los Angeles was also recovering from a gunshot wound. That person had been listed in stable condition.
Police continued to investigate what led up to the shooting. They say it does not appear to be random.
The search for a motive continues.
