18-Month-Old Girl Killed After Being Struck By Grandfather's Van

HIGHLAND PARK (CBSLA.com) — An 18-month-old girl was fatally struck by her grandfather's van in Highland Park, according to authorities.

LAPD Detectives said that on Saturday January 25, around 1:50 p.m., the little girl was hit by the van in the 3500 block of Marmion Way.

Investigators said the little girl's grandfather was backing his van down his driveway when the vehicle collided with the toddler. The girl suffered major trauma.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics transported the girl to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The investigation is being handled as an accident.
