17-Foot Albino Burmese Python Found Dead At Riverside County Dump

JURUPA VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A very big, and very dead, snake was discovered at a Riverside County dump this week.

An albino Burmese python measuring 17 feet and 7 inches long was discovered Monday by workers at the Agua Mansa Transfer Station in Jurupa Valley.

Riverside County Animal Services officials say it would be difficult to determine what caused the snake's death, but it's likely it died of natural causes and the owner illegally dumped it without detection.

The python will be properly disposed of by Riverside County Animal Services.

The agency said it has impounded similar snakes in past years, but those creatures were alive and had somehow escaped their pet owners' properties.
