16-Story Ski Jump Alongside 110 Freeway Part Of Shaun White Snowboarding Festival

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Why is there a 16-story ski jump rising out of the urban landscape alongside the Harbor (110) Freeway?

The towering ramp is part of Shaun White's Air + Style festival at EXPO Park at the Los Angeles Coliseum. This is the second year the festival and tour has made a stop in Los Angeles.

The two-day all-ages event starts Saturday and is a combination music festival, art show, technology conference and snowboarding competition. White, however, is not in the lineup to compete.

"The best part of the event is, it's not only the sport but the music," White told CBS 2 This Morning last week. "I mean, we have J. Cole, Incubus, Haim, Action Bronson, Big Grams. I mean, these are world-renowned acts -- Kaskade the deejay. So you really get not only the sport, but the culture behind the sport."

Tickets are still available, and kids under 10 are free with a ticketed adult.
